First Tanks of Siberia Oil Delivered to Kozmino Oil Harbor in Primorye

It is intended for testing of the pipeline "Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean" eastern point operational availability

VLADIVOSTOK, October 27, vladivostoktimes.com The first tanks of Siberia oil were railed to the special-purpose sea port “Kozmino,” the terminal point of the pipeline “Eastern Siberia – Pacific Meridian;” RIA PrimaMedia was informed in the press service of the Primorsky Territory Administration.

The construction work was completed in Kozmino early in October. Now the oil pipelines are to be filled with the crude oil to test the processing lines and their capability. Over 85 thousand tons of crude oil is needed for this purpose. Since November the oil will be accumulated for servicing of the two first tankers in December.

“It is a remarkable event for Primorye. The strategy of the Primorsky Territory Development till 2025 stipulates that the cluster for hydrocarbon raw materials carrying and processing should be created. The Russian oil will be delivered to the consumers of the countries of Asia-Pacific Region from the Kozmino Port and on target we intend to produce and export the petrochemical products,” Sergey DARKIN, the Governor of the Primorsky Territory notes.  

The pipeline “Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean” stretches through the Irkutsk Region, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Amur Region and the Khabarovsk Territory. To rail the oil tanks from Skovorodino to Kozmino is provided for the first stage of ESPO project. From Kozmino it will be exported to the countries of Asia-Pacific Region.  

The first tanks are being loaded in Megeta, Irkutsk Region; the Kozmino service oil lines are to be filled with the crude oil. The oil tanks start to Primorye every day.  

In November the first delivery of stock-tank oil is expected from Skovorodino, Amur Region. The first stage of the eastern oil pipeline including the special purpose Kozmino port is to be completely put into operation by December 25, 2009.

Information: the Kozmino first stage capacity amounts to 15 million tons of oil per year; at the second stage it is to increase to 30 million tons of oil. The oil-loading terminal can provide the simultaneous service for two liquefied cargo carrier of 80 – 150 thousand tons deadweight. The terminal’s labor force is about 750 people.
