VLADIVOSTOK, November 20, vladivostoktimes.com At the Vladivostok department of the Far Eastern Railway the testing of a new unique system of operating locomotives "Ermak" was held.

For holding of experimental trips to the depot Smolyaninovo (the Primorsky Territory) two new three-section locomotives "Ermak" of 3C5K class, equipped with a unique system of operating SUL-R, arrived, the service on public relations of the FER reported to RIA PrimaMedia.

In the opinion of the vice-Head of the department of the railway - the chief inspector on safety of movement of trains Andrei GAMKOV, introduction of this system will allow to synchronize actions of machinists of the head and rear-end locomotives during operating heavy-loaded trains with weight of over 6 thousand tons.

"As a result we receive a synchronized work of two machinists, and consequently, the locomotives, Andrei GAMKOV noted. At such well-coordinated work of machinists smoothness of speed is observed, there is no shaking of a train, at which there can be a sharp decline and break of automatic couplers, that in our conditions threatens with the most severe consequences," the chief inspector of the department of the railway emphasized.

The first tests of "Ermak" were successfully completed in November of 2006. Then in Primorye the part of the railway Smolyaninovo - Nakhodka Vostochnaya was also chosen for carrying out the experiment. This polygon is peculiar for very difficult structure with presence of high elevations of relief, curves of small radius and is the only one with these extreme characteristics in the whole network of the railways of the Russian Federation.
